Accessibility Statement

NewCitizenshipTest is designed to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That includes:

• Semantic HTML with proper landmarks and heading hierarchy.
• Visible focus indicators and full keyboard operation of quizzes and flashcards (space to flip, arrow keys to navigate).
• Color contrast of 4.5:1 or better for body text. Our gold accent is reserved for icons and highlights — never small body text.
• Text-based labels for icons; images have alt text.
• Minimum 44×44 px tap targets, mobile-first layouts, and plain-language copy at a 6–8th grade reading level for ESL friendliness.

Known limitations

Full Spanish translations of long-form content are being rolled out. Meanwhile, an unofficial Spanish study aid is provided under each civics question.
