About NewCitizenshipTest

NewCitizenshipTest is a free, independent study resource for immigrants preparing for the U.S. naturalization civics test. We're not a law firm, and we're not affiliated with USCIS, the Department of Homeland Security, or any government agency. Our job is simple: help you walk into your interview ready.

Where our questions come from

Every question on this site is drawn verbatim from official USCIS study materials for the 2025 test (128 questions) and the 2008 test (100 questions). Those materials are in the public domain. We do not paraphrase question wording.

How we handle answers that change

Some questions have answers that shift with elections or appointments — the President, Vice President, Speaker of the House, Chief Justice, and the applicant's own governor and U.S. senators. Every one of those questions carries an Answers may change badge. We pull officeholder names from a single central data file so an update happens everywhere at once, and we display a last verified date. Our last full verification against senate.gov and usa.gov was 2026-07-12. We re-verify after every federal or gubernatorial election.

What we don't do

  • We don't give legal advice. If your case is complex, speak with a licensed immigration attorney or an accredited representative.
  • We don't collect your personal information. Progress and preferences are stored on your device.
  • We don't sell shortcuts. There is no way to skip studying — but with the right practice, most applicants pass on the first try.
